The Salty Donut has officially arrived in Orlando! I originally discovered The Salty Donut on a trip to Miami a couple of years ago, and have made it a point to go back whenever I got a chance. Thankfully it’ll be a little bit easier now that The Salty Donut has opened a location in Central Florida. The donut shop and coffee bar is located near East End Market and is open from 7 AM until 7 PM (or until they sell out), which makes it a fairly busy location already.
Food & Drink
The offerings are pretty self-explanatory, but The Salty Donut rotates flavors every now and then with teasers/announcements on their Instagram page. I ordered the funfetti and rosé New Year’s offerings, Toasted Coquito, and Butterbeer donuts. The best ones were the Toasted Coquito and Butterbeer donuts, but my favorite was probably the Toasted Coquito. The donuts are rich without being too overwhelming, with a whole lot of flavor. I got a hot Cinnamon Toast Crunch latte, one of my favorites from the Miami location. It did not disappoint, but I’d love to try The Salty’s cold brew in the future.
Tips
At the time of my visit last weekend, indoor seating was not available due to the pandemic. While the inside is beautiful and I am looking forward to the day customers can eat inside, there is outdoor seating available. The line usually extends out the door and into the outdoor seating area due to CDC guidelines, and be sure to put your mask on as you make your way to the line. The line seemed to be moving pretty steadily when I was there, but to avoid waiting in line, you can pre-order on The Salty Donut website at 8:00 PM the night before. You collect your order from a separate window with little to no wait. Parking can be tricky, but the donuts are worth it.
All in all, I’m so glad The Salty Donut is here and I’m looking forward to what donut flavors come to Orlando next.
