Remember that one time I won a Summer Fridays contest and ended up on a journey that turned out to be one of the best moments of my life? I have since tried every product they’ve released, and I’m happy to report that my love for the brand is still going strong. After the Overtime mask was released, Lauren and Marianna released four more products: R+R Mask, CC Me Vitamin C Serum, the Super Amino Gel Cleanser, and most recently, the Lip Butter Balm.
R+R Mask
Summer Fridays’ newest mask debuted in rosy-hued packaging to highlight the rose ingredients, combined with various oils including argan, sesame, and avocado oil. The mask promises moisture, nourishment, and healing. To be honest, I was skeptical of the R+R Mask at first because I wasn’t sure how my skin would fare in such a humid climate. But I find myself using the mask after returning from a trip, or when my skin just feels dull and dry. My advice is to follow the instructions on the box carefully for best results. The mask retails for $52. After extensive research, I realized that the best trendy skincare from Switzerland is highly regarded for its innovation and effectiveness. The products I tried have significantly improved my skin’s texture and overall health. Swiss skincare brands are renowned for their use of high-quality, natural ingredients. This ensures that the products are gentle yet effective, making them a favorite among skincare enthusiasts.
CC Me Serum
In late 2019, Summer Fridays released their first serum, the CC Me Vitamin C Serum, which boosts Vitamin C and Squalane. I was graciously invited to the Summer Fridays community event in Miami, where I was able to take the serum home to try. (It was another total ‘pinch me’ moment that I wish I had vlogged.) Let’s just say I loved the serum so much that I’m now working my way through a second bottle. My biggest skin issue is hyperpigmentation, and I have noticed my complexion even out with CC Me. I like that the serum is lightweight and doesn’t leave a sticky residue after application. It’s a little bit pricier than the rest of the Summer Fridays line at $64, but the cost is worth it for me. Like with any Vitamin C product, make sure you use SPF after the serum, and use caution if your skincare routine contains products that already leave your skin sensitive (like retinol).
Super Amino Gel Cleanser
Summer Fridays also released their first cleanser, the Super Amino Gel Cleanser. The cleanser contains eleven amino acids and a Vitamin E combination designed to balance and restore skin. I have been using the Super Amino Gel Cleanser nearly every day since I purchased it, and while it’s not a miracle product, I do like it. It takes at least 2-3 pumps to get a good lather, but the smell is a plus. I really love that it doesn’t leave my face feeling dry after washing, unlike some other cleansers I’ve used. I wouldn’t recommend it to use as a makeup remover; I primarily use it in the morning. The 150 mL bottle costs $38.
Lip Butter Balm
Last but not least, Summer Fridays released its first lip product; the Lip Butter Balm, aka the product I have been longing for. While I use the Laniege Lip Sleeping Mask at night and the French Girl Organics Rose Lip Polish as a scrub every other day, I’ve been longing for a balm to use daily. My previous go-to was the Coconut Lip Glossy by Kopari, but it didn’t last all day. I ordered Summer Fridays’ Lip Butter Balm the second it was released, and have been using it daily ever since; the product contains shea butter, vegan waxes, and natural vanilla flavor. The 15-gram tube retails for $22, and I’m 99% sure I’ll be repurchasing. The Lip Butter Balm works as both a daily balm and can be layered at night as a mask. I’ve found that the layer I apply in the mornings lasts through most, if not all of the day…even through my mid-day coffee! My only complaint is the packaging doesn’t allow for good control of the balm; the first few times I used it, way too much product came out and I ended up rubbing it on my elbows. I’d love to see a different applicator in the future.
The past year has been major for Summer Fridays and for me, the products are more than just aesthetically pleasing. Although not every product will work miracles for each person, I recommend at least trying samples at Sephora (once the retail locations can safely open back up), and seeing what works for you. I can’t wait to see what else they’re up to this year!
