The live-action Cinderella movie comes out next week and with that comes some great new spring collections. The most buzzed about collection is the MAC Cinderella one, launching at MAC stores in the US tomorrow. I ordered a few things from the online launch last Thursday, and I just wanted to share my initial thoughts with everyone!
I ordered the Stroke of Midnight eyeshadow palette and the Cinderella Glitter in Reflects Pearl.
I went to Disney yesterday and couldn’t resist snapping a picture of the beautiful palette in front of Cinderella’s castle. The packaging looks so much prettier in person than it does online – pictures just don’t do it justice! I’m not going to lie, I wasn’t really feeling the collection, but decided to give it a chance, because I’m a Disney AND makeup fanatic. I was pleasantly surprised with my two items.
The palette includes the following shadows: Vapour, Phloof!, Omega, Quarry, Satin Taupe, and Stroke of Midnight, and retails for $44 USD. I believe that Stroke of Midnight is the only new eyeshadow in this set (please correct me if I’m wrong), but it’s perfect for a person just starting off with makeup or with MAC eyeshadows. I don’t own any MAC eyeshadows so I figured this would be perfect for me. I’m pretty sure you can live off of this palette if you’re more of a natural makeup type of person.
As for the glitter, Peter likes to use Reflects Pearl (which has been re-promoted for this collection), as a highlight on me as well as for dramatic night time looks. I added it to my makeup wishlist even before it was announced in this collection, and I’m so glad I waited to get it. It retails for $23 USD.
Here are some (horrible – sorry!) swatches that I quickly made on my arm of the palette and the glitter. I promise the shadows are more buttery than they look, and as with any glitter, it will look a million times better with some type of adhesive between your skin and the glitter:

The rest of the collection includes an eye gloss, two pigments, a fluidline, mascara, two lipsticks, a tinted lipglass, a beauty powder, an iridescent powder, and two brushes (which are sadly not blue and gold).
Update: I went to the MAC store about thirty minutes after it opened, and it as a hot mess that I could no longer deal with, so I went to Macy’s to try everything on and the only thing I ended up getting was the lipglass in Glass Slipper. It’s gorgeous, the lipglass has pink glitter in it! IMO, the lipsticks aren’t worth it – they’re very sheer and barely show up. I didn’t really like the powders either, they were too ashy on my skin tone. As for the eyegloss, it looked cool, but I would probably never wear it. The pigments were sold out by the time I got to the store so there was no point in try them out 🙁 Here’s a picture of my little collection:
Speaking of Cinderella collections, I couldn’t resist posting a picture of a tulle skirt I scored at Kohl’s that was a part of Lauren Conrad’s Cinderella Collection for Kohl’s. It’s so gorgeous, and Cinderella’s castle is on it! The rest of the line is worth checking out as well, but the tulle skirt is the first thing you should grab if you want it!
Are you taking part in the Cinderella madness this month? What’s on your wishlist for MAC Cinderella? Let’s discuss in the comments! And have an enchanting week 🙂

one of my favorite collections. I absolutely LOVE how you took a pic with the castle on the background 🙂

Thank you, Giselle! I was so worried that nothing would work out for me because I don’t really like light lipsticks, but this collection ended up being one of my favorites too.
