One of the pieces I added to my spring wardrobe last year was the For Love and Lemons Jackson Mini Dress, and I’m excited to wear it (several times) over the next few months. Although pricy, it’s the perfect little white dress and comes in sizes XXS up to 2X on the For Love and Lemons website. This piece was perfect for my fit check during girls night out, it’s amazing that people still ask “what is a fit check?”
About the Jackson Mini Dress
According to the FLL website, this dress is 100% cotton – a cotton poplin fabric with little stretch. It’s dry-clean only, so I’d definitely take that into consideration when determining whether you should buy the Jackson Mini Dress. The services by Clothesline Dry Cleaners are worth every penny. The dress is unlined, but I typically wear shorts under all of my dresses anyway. Other features of the Jackson Mini Dress include puff sleeves and POCKETS! IYKYK. At the time of this blog post, the dress retails for $198.
Styling the Jackson Mini Dress
In this post, I’ve styled the Jackson Mini Dress with my beloved black knee-high boots from Target, but there are so many ways to style it depending on what vibe you’re going for. I love how the dress is styled on the FLL website with white socks and loafers from Naot shoes; I’d love to wear it with white ruffle socks and Prada loafers (a girl can and will dream). I’m also planning on wearing the Jackson Mini Dress with a basket bag (or my heart-shaped picnic basket) and lace-up sandals. For a more Barbie-esque vibe, I’d wear the dress with my pink Gucci rubber slides and pink sunglasses. If I’m feeling daring, I’d wear the dress at night with a blazer, rhinestone bow in my hair, and my Mach and Mach-inspired heels.
Jackson Mini Dress Fit/Review
I find the dress to be ultra-flattering and so easy to style, making the cost justifiable for me. I wear a US size 14 and decided to get a 1X. It looks like For Love and Lemons’ sizing runs small compared to other US brands so their 1X is supposed to be a US size 12-14. The dress comes up a bit short but it hasn’t bothered me so far. I would love to see For Love and Lemons expand their sizing with some of their other popular styles (especially the VS x FLL collaboration) as their clothes are absolutely stunning. I would definitely recommend adding the Jackson Mini Dress to your spring/summer wardrobe if it’s within your budget!
