Glossier is one of the most popular beauty brands among millenials, so it is no surprise that I’ve been slowly but surely testing out their products. I first ordered their Balm Dotcom universal skin salve and Generation G sheer matte lipstick, made my way to their Milky Jelly Cleanser, and recently decided to pick up the Wowder Duo in Dark/Deep and Cloud Paint in Dusk on my last trip to the Glossier Showroom.
Wowder Duo (finishing powder & brush): $35
I watched Marianna Hewitt’s review of the product on YouTube, which sparked my interest. You could see how the powder immediately blurred her pores and imperfections in a matte way. I walked into the showroom with the intention of only getting the Wowder, but as soon as I felt that brush, I knew I needed it in my life. It’s seriously one of the softest brushes I’ve ever felt, and the pricetag of the duo had me sold. The powder is $22 and the brush by itself is $20, so you’re saving $10 with the bundle. If you like soft pink brushes and flawless skin, you should definitely get the Wowder Duo. Here’s why I love it:
- You instantly see the matte effect. It literally made me say WOW as I applied it.
- The Deep/Dark shade gave me a warm glow. It definitely adds a little oomph to my complexion.
- It works just as well when I wear CC cream/tinted moisturizer as it does when I wear foundation.
It’s been almost two months and I love it just as much as I did the first time I tried the powder. It’s my new holy grail!
Cloud Paint in Dusk: $18
Glossier’s Cloud Paint gel-cream blush is a relatively new release I’ve been dying to try. They look like the simplest way to add a dash of color to your cheeks to brighten your look, whether or not you have makeup on. I went with Dusk as my first Cloud Paint shade since it was the most neutral, but it was a little too neutral if you ask me. It looks so beautiful on fair complexions because you can actually see the color; on me, it just made me look alive. I’m not saying it’s a horrible choice for brown girls, but I definitely find myself mixing it with another blush for a more standout color. I would definitely recommend getting one of the bundles rather than a single color, like I did. You can get a duo for $30 or the quad (all four colors) for $55. Here’s what I like about Cloud Paint:
-
- You can apply and blend it with your fingers. Perfect for that no makeup makeup look when you only have 10 minutes to get ready!
- There are 4 shades to choose from
- You can get creative with color combinations to make a new shade
- It looks great with your bare skin, a tinted moisturizer, or foundation
I’m hoping Glossier comes out with a few more shades next year!
I also couldn’t help myself during Black Friday; Glossier had 20% off orders with free shipping, so I decided to try their bestselling Boy Brow grooming pomade and Cloud Paint in Haze. A review on that will be coming after a couple of weeks of consistent use. What’s on your Glossier wishlist? Leave a comment below!
