Carli Bybel is my favorite blogger/YouTuber, and Missguided is one of my favorite online stores. Put them together and what do you get? An amazing collection! The only thing I was able to snag with the quickness was the silky cami dress in green.
I decided to keep it green and style the dress with my Lola Shoetique ‘Break the Internet‘ booties and my green Michael Kors Selma. I threw a denim jacket (from American Eagle) over it to balance out the fact that my legs are pretty much all out. If it wasn’t so hot in Florida, I would definitely have paired the dress with thigh-high boots like Carli did, but I honestly wouldn’t have made it through brunch or the shoot with them on. It’s basically a straight-cut slip dress which isn’t the most flattering for curvy girls. I’ll have to have the top taken in since my bottom half is bigger; I adjusted the straps for a quick fix, but it messed up the neckline of the dress in my opinion.
What I do really like about the dress is that it can be easily converted into a top if you tuck it into a skirt or shorts. Overall, I’m glad this piece wasn’t at the more expensive end of the collection, because it wouldn’t have been worth it for me. It barely works with my pear shape, especially being 5’10” (without heels). I’m keeping an eye out for the restock because I’m looking to get one of the dusters or the rose gold lace-up sleeve bomber jacket. The color palette of the collection is perfect for the transition from summer to fall, and the price range falls along the standard Missguided range.
