Now that school is back in full swing, I find myself constantly trying to find a balance between being cute and being comfortable. Some days I’m willing to dress up more than others, depending on how early I can wake up before class. I’ve put together a really simple formula that is pretty easy to stick to, and I’m going to share it with you all this week 🙂
Since most of my classroom buildings are freezing, and I rarely spend time outside while I’m studying, I dress in layers. I usually wear a tank top with pants that at least go down to my ankles, and some type of long sleeved button-down shirt/cardigan/jacket, depending on the day’s weather. Sometimes I dress the look up with sandals and cute jewelry, and some days I opt for really plain jewelry with my white Converse high-tops.
Pairing that formula with a stylish backpack makes it look like you put effort into your look, but if you put everything together the night before, you really don’t have to put too much effort into getting dressed in the morning. It also helps me avoid the athletic wear rut I sometimes get stuck in…it’s just so tempting to wear yoga leggings and oversized t-shirts all day every day.
My particular backpack is from ALDO, but I’ve seen some really cute ones at Zara as well. I’ve worn all of the other pieces before; the bodysuit is from American Apparel, the chambray shirt is from American Eagle, the jeans are from LOFT, and my shoes are from Target. Stay tuned for my autumn wishlist with a good majority of my back to school picks, and best of luck to anyone taking exams soon! You’ve got this!
