Hello loves! My friends and I decided to check out a new-to-us brunch spot on Sunday, so we went to a place in Winter Park called Cask & Larder, which has a heavy Southern influence. Having checked out the menu beforehand, I knew I wanted to try their chicken and waffles, as well as one of their cocktails.
The food was amazing, the best part being that the waffles were cornbread waffles. I actually ended up swapping my Whiskey Smash for a mimosa, because I learned the hard way that I’m not a whiskey-for-breakfast type of person. It would’ve been the perfect happy hour drink, though. As for my brunch outfit, I also wanted to try something new. I hopped on the denim button-up a-line mini trend a while ago, but this was my first time rocking the look in public.
The skirt is the AEO Button Down Denim Skirt from American Eagle. I paired the skirt with the white Ribbed Jersey Bodysuit from H&M, my Tory Burch satchel (old), the Girly Lace Ankle Sock in navy/white from American Apparel, and the Ashney bootie from JustFab. The booties were pretty comfortable, but the socks were necessary, because it takes a while to break in the top of the boot. I can’t wait until the weather cools down a bit so I can wear the skirt with chambray shirts, peasant blouses, etc. Would you rock the a-line denim mini trend? Let me know in the comments!
What a delicious day! Cornbread and waffleswin win
Definitely!
