Hi lovelies! The past few days have been a mess, but I feel so blessed and grateful to have made it through Hurricane Irma without losing power or anything happening to to my house. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone in South Florida and the Caribbean who were affected by the hurricane. If you’re looking to make a difference, American Eagle is accepting donations at all locations through September 26th.
Right before the hurricane, I went on a mission to find a small cactus for my desk, and took my new wrap dress for a spin. I have wanted one of the iconic Diane von Furstenburg wrap dresses for as long as I can remember, but I tried one on not too long ago and it made me look like a (fabulous) lacrosse mom. I’ll save it for a couple decades from now. I did find the Women’s Short Sleeve Woven Wrap Dress at Target, and it was super flattering!
The dress is pretty true to size; I normally wear L in Target’s dresses and got an XL in this dress because it was the only larger size left at my local store. It was a little big – I tied the wrap as tight as I could, but I’m most likely going to have to get the shoulders/back taken in so I don’t have to adjust my dress every few minutes.
One of my favorite things about this dress in particular is that it’s so versatile. You can wear it with over the knee boots like I did for a Fall look, with red heels for a night out, or with a denim jacket and loafers for a casual coffee date. It’s also super light and airy, which is PERFECT for the consistent heat and humidity.
I paired the wrap dress with sunglasses I randomly found at Forever21 (I’m sure those of you who shop there can relate, lol), the Philipa Heeled Boot in Black from JustFab, and a white vinyl purse from Zara I bought on sale a while back. I love the silhouette of this dress so much and I think we’ll be seeing a lot more of it this fall! And in case anyone’s wondering, I did end up finding the perfect cactus for my desk… her name is Penelope and you can see her on my Instagram feed!
What’s your take on the wrap dress?
I love wrap dresses! They’re so flattering and comfy. And I love how you paired them with these boots! Feeling all the Fall vibes despite the heat. Lol
Agreed! Thanks love! I don’t know what I was thinking wearing all black + OTK boots in this weather though, LOL.
