Hey lovelies! It’s been a while, but I had the best time at Miami Swim Week. With all of the Miami heat, I changed outfits multiple times, so I decided to do a roundup of everything I wore. My inspiration was the city of Miami Beach itself, from the tropical plants to the colorful architecture and the beach.
Day 1, Look 1: The Art Hearts Fashion Show
This jumpsuit is the Women’s Palm Print Tie Back Jumpsuit from the Who What Wear Collection at Target. Spoiler alert, most of my Miami wardrobe is from WWW. Their summer pieces are so chic and affordable! If you follow me on Instagram, you know that I am obsessed with all things tropical. The jumpsuit has a really pretty knot detail on the back so I wore my hair to one shoulder, and paired it with Reagan wedges from UGG and the Cult Gaia Ark bag (mini). The jumpsuit is a linen blend, so it was just what I needed to combat the heat.
Day 2, Look 1: Rooftop Chic
One of the best things to do in South Beach is to look at it from a different point of view, like from a rooftop. The Clevelander has a rooftop deck for guests called C-Level, which provides some of the best views of Ocean Drive. Since I knew I was going to be in direct sunlight, I chose to pair a bathing suit top from ASOS (sold out) with my closet staple destroyed denim skirt purchased years ago at River Island and a button-down linen top.
Button-downs are a wardrobe must in general, but I definitely suggest adding a linen one if you plan on traveling to super warm climates (or live in one, like I do). To dress the outfit up a little, I decided to wear my Cati Slide Sandal in Gold from JustFab, oversized cat-eye sunglasses, and wicker basket bag, both from Zara.
Day 2, Look 2: Sports Illustrated Runway Show
After spending the day outside, I had to change before the runway shows later that evening. I attended the Fashion Palette Australian Runway and then the Sports Illustrated show. What I really love about Miami Swim Week is not only seeing the trends a summer ahead of the general public but the overall celebration of women seen in the SI show every year. There was a model who is a new mom and was breastfeeding while walking down the runway!
Once again, Who What Wear x Target came to my rescue. Their Women’s Short Sleeve Mini Wrap Dress in Black Dot is my new go-to. The silhouette is universally flattering, and the dot print isn’t overwhelming. You can dress it up with heels or rock it with platform sneakers. I actually wanted to wear the dress with my favorite Who What Wear mules, but my feet were still super swollen from the drive down to Miami and couldn’t even fit into the mules. *facepalm*
Day 3, Look 1: Picnic on South Beach
One of the highlights of my Miami trip was having a picnic on South Beach. The girls and I woke up super early to have breakfast on the beach. Although we went out close to 9 AM, it was already really hot outside. I wore the Knot Front Pleated Cami Top With Shorts from Shein (had to size up two sizes) with my oversized linen shirt and a straw hat I got years ago when I went to Rome. Co-ords are so cute and effortless in the summer; I love that you can wear the pieces together or mix and match to switch your look up.
Day 3, Look 2: Happy Hour at South Pointe Tavern
Speaking of which, I reworked the cami from my co-ord set to go with my favorite Who What Wear for Target skirt, previously worn on my trip to St. Petersburg. I paired the outfit with neutral accessories for happy hour at South Pointe Tavern. It was still insanely hot in the evening, but this look was breezy enough for me to feel comfortable for the duration of the evening. Like I said in one of my earliest blog posts, you can’t go wrong with crop tops and midi skirts!
Day 4, Look 1: Baewatch
On our last day in Miami, the girls and I woke up early once again to explore the part of South Beach closest to our hotel. We had been wanting lifeguard stand pictures throughout our entire trip, but couldn’t find time to go until our last day. Tip for getting lifeguard stand pictures: try going before they go on duty at around 9:30 AM. They’ll need a clear view of their section of the beach once they start the day.
Since the lifeguard stands on the beach are known to be colorful, I decided to wear all white so I wouldn’t have to worry about the stand clashing with my outfit. I wore a bow top from the Zara sale section and the white pants that I have worn at least twice a month for the past three years (LOL, no shame). The pants were really pushing it with the heat, but I was thankful that they weren’t denim.
Day 4, Look 2: Exploring Wynwood
My last afternoon in Miami was spent in Wynwood, which is one of my favorite neighborhoods (by day); it’s known for the street art on every corner. Since I knew there was going to be a lot of walking around involved, I opted for a long, breezy dress. The Women’s Tiered Maxi Dress from Who What Wear for Target was a purchase I hadn’t planned on making- I saw the dress on the hanger in-store and thought that it looked ridiculous. I tried it on for kicks and giggles, and ended up falling in love!
It was easy for me to pull off the length of the dress, but since there’s so much green, I had to accessorize carefully. I decided to wear a silky scarf I got from the Art Hearts Fashion Show to spice up my ponytail and my seasoned Target sandals with a slight chunky heel. The handbag is also an old Target find.
It was as exhausting planning all of these looks as you’d imagine it to be, but I couldn’t be happier with the way they turned out! If you got through this entire post and are now reading this at the end, I just want to thank you… you’re the real MVP!
