The Too Faced Sweet Peach Eye Shadow Palette has been everywhere lately. All of the big beauty gurus on Instagram and YouTube have been singing its praises, which influenced most beauty-obsessed gals (and guys) my age to purchase it. I had to see what the hype was about.
The packaging is really cute, and it looks very similar to their Chocolate Bar palette, just…peach. For me, the peach smell is really overpowering and I’m not a huge fan of it. I might be biased because I love chocolate, but the Chocolate Bar palette smells way better, and it’s not as in-your-face as this one is.
The shades look really pretty, and the ones that convinced me to buy the palette in the first place were the two true peach shades. I do, however, wish there were less neutrals and maybe one or two more peach tones. It is the sweet peach palette, after all. The dark purples intrigued me, but the shimmery black kind-of threw me off. So how did everything look on?
The shimmers performed the best, and the mattes were powdery. The darker shades are okay, but definitely take a little work to build up to my liking. I think Too Faced does shimmers really well, and their mattes are hit or miss. I definitely think the Chocolate Bar outperforms the Sweet Peach palette, and to be honest, it’s not worth paying the full $49 for all. those. neutrals.
I hope Too Faced works on reformulating their mattes, and adds more of a variety to their palettes. I haven’t tried any other Sweet Peach products but I’m definitely willing to give the blushes a try. For reference, swatches were done on my MAC NC 42/TooFaced ‘Mocha’ skin. The palette is available from HSN for $49, as well as from TooFaced, ULTA, and Sephora.
Do any of you lovelies own the Too Faced Sweet Peach palette? What are your thoughts on it?
