I recently came across the Women’s Floral Print Long Sleeve V-Neck Flowy Tiered Mini Babydoll Dress from the Who What Wear x Target line while casually scrolling on my Instagram feed. Within days, I saw multiple media outlets refer to it as the ‘it’ dress under $40 this season. I wore a similar tiered style to Miami Swim Week last year and immediately remembered how cool and breezy I felt in the tiered maxi dress.

This year, the tiered dress is a mini version with a babydoll silhouette. It comes and a black and white floral print and solid black. At full price it’s $34.99, but Target is running a promotion this week where you can get it for 20% off. I got the black and white floral print, which was tricky because I made a promise myself to buy less florals this year. (This is my second floral purchase of 2019.) But, does it count if the floral print is mostly black and white?

The fit
You may have noticed I’m pretty skeptical about flowy dresses. I wasn’t sold on last year’s tiered maxi until after I tried it on for kicks and giggles. It’s easy for someone with my pear shape to look like they’re wearing a tent with items that are supposed to be flowy, even with my long legged advantage. The fit is a dream!
I purchased the dress in my usual size and really loved how it draped across my body. It’s lined, so I didn’t have to worry about being exposed, and the dress isn’t too short for me. Since I wore the dress last month when the weather was still nice, I had the sleeves all the way down, but I definitely plan on wearing it with the sleeves pushed up to my elbows in the summer.

Tips for wearing
I would recommend sizing down for petite builds. It also wrinkles easily, so give the dress and good steam/iron before you leave the house. I (surprisingly) love how the dress looks unbelted, but I can see myself styling it with a gold chain belt in the future.
The best part about the dress is that you can easily dress it up or down. My favorite way to dress it up is with my favorite strappy sandals from Zara and statement earrings. I can also see it pairing really well with athletic trend sandals or chunky/classic sneakers!

The TL;DR version is that I was influenced to buy this dress on Instagram and did not regret it. I’m excited to see what Who What Wear has in store for their summer collection!
