It’s no secret that I recently got back from living my best life in Trinidad & Tobago over the past two weeks. To maximize my vacation time, I decided to wear a minimal makeup look most days thanks to Niawigs. I wore my full face of makeup for special outings, like seeing a musical at the National Academy for the Performing Arts, but for the most part, I just wore foundation, blush, highlighter, mascara, and a tinted lip balm. Wander Beauty was kind enough to send over a few products for me to try while on my trip. (All opinions are 100% my own, though.)
If you’re not familiar with Wander Beauty, they are a brand founded by two women on the go, Divya Gugnani and Lindsay Ellingson. The On-the-Glow Blush and Illuminator stick was their first product and is still one of their bestsellers. Wander Beauty is all about multifunction without sacrificing quality for the everyday woman.
Flash Focus Hydrating Foundation Stick
Wander Beauty’s foundation stick formula includes coconut oil, which is why the stick is so hydrating. I’ve tried other foundation sticks that definitely aren’t as hydrating as this one. I tried the foundation in the shade ‘Deep,’ which is the darkest shade. My only complaint is that the shade range is very limited, but hopefully, they will be able to expand their shade range in the future. I wasn’t sure if ‘Golden Medium’ would be too light for me, but I was able to make ‘Deep’ work by mixing it with a lighter foundation stick that I currently own.
The foundation retails for $40, so that’s something to take into consideration with the shade range.
Beach Balm
If there’s one product to get from Wander Beauty without hesitance, it’s their Beach Balm. I have on the ‘Sangria’ shade, and I am obsessed. The balm is also super hydrating and retails for $22. It contains Vitamins C&E, prickly pear and chamomile extracts, and micro-fine pearl pigments. In my opinion, the available shades are pretty universally flattering, and the colors are buildable. They can also be used on cheeks if you want to skimp on traveling with a separate blush. I’ve had issues in the past with lip balms being too drying, but Beach Balm delivers on the hydration.
On-the-Glow Blush and Illuminator
I’m a new fan of cream blush, but before Wander Beauty, I had only ever tried Glossier’s Cloud Paint. There’s a blush on one end and an illuminator on the other end. I chose to review the shade ‘Berry Whisper’ which you’ve probably guessed is a berry blush. The highlight on the other end is gold and looks amazing by itself or with a powder gold highlight over it to really POP. Some days, I felt like I didn’t even need foundation – just this stick, the Beach Balm, and some mascara. The blush and illuminator is one stick product that retails for $42.
All in all, I’m really impressed with Wander Beauty. The ingredients are of quality and I love that I can pack everything in a small pouch in my carry-on. It’s perfect for summer when you want to skimp on products and for travel when you want to minimize your routine. I can’t wait to try more of their products!
