The t-shirt dress is definitely a wardrobe staple. There are so many ways you can style it, it’ll never get old! I decided to style my distressed t-shirt dress from Missguided last weekend.
You’re probably wondering what the big deal is about this dress. After all, it just looks like an oversized t-shirt, right? This one from Missguided had some distressing on it and a cute little choker neck, so if you would rather make your own at home, it would be a really fun DIY. T-shirt dresses are simple but that’s why they are so great to wear. They go with just about any and everything in your closet, and you can wear them with some casual sneakers, or dress them up with heels. In cooler weather, you can throw an oversized denim jacket over it and run out the door.
You might recall my romper phase. I was obsessed with rompers for so long because they were so easy to just throw on. The same thing goes for the t-shirt dress. If you buy them from the right place, or get the right fabric, they basically feel like a second skin. You do have to make sure it’s long enough so it looks like a dress. I highly recommend the selection at Missguided – the oversized fit is perfect and the fabric is very soft. Don’t be afraid to go overboard with the accessories; layer all of the necklaces you own, or wear those new statement velvet boots.
Outfit details: The booties I’m wearing with the t-shirt dress are from Lola Shoetique, but they are currently sold out. My sunglasses are the Quay Australia x Desi Perkins High Key shades in one of the new colorways.
