For the first time in years, I’m not setting any New Year Resolutions. I honestly don’t think I’ve ever been successful at keeping them. This year, I’m setting intentions. To me, the word ‘intention’ itself is more motivating and brings more positive energy than the word ‘resolution.’ Resolutions are more like resolving issues from the past year, which seem more of a chore, and less than inspiring. Intentions, on the other hand, are more of my path for the new year. They will help guide my thoughts and decisions throughout the year. I decided to make a virtual vision board to go with my intentions, so I’ll use it as a visual guide to share my 2018 intentions with you all!

4 words: Joy, Adventure, Success, Passion
I chose to represent my intentions with just one word each. It leaves more for my own personal interpretation, which will most likely change over the course of the year, based on my experiences. I chose pictures from Pinterest that best represented what each word meant to me. This year, I want to be full of joy, adventure, success, and passion. These four words are interconnected, and I can envision a circle on my vision board physically connecting them.
Joy
My personal definition of joy is to live a life full of adventure, and to keep my passion ignited, which will ultimately bring me success. This year, I will surround myself with things and people that make me happy, and not just the superficial euphoria you feel after a great impulse buy. I’m determined to turn my spare bedroom into a creative space designed completely by me. I have a vision of what I want the room to look like in my head, I just need to take the baby steps to get there.
Adventure
In 2017, I decided to cut down on the random, unnecessary Target trips, and stopped making purchases purely based off of Instagram hype. In return, I was able to allocate more of my funds to traveling, which is the single greatest thing I did for myself last year. It’s so rewarding to be able to take a vacation to a place you love, or a place you’ve never been to, after working hard. This year, I plan on going to Disneyland, the Grand Canyon, and Paris. I’ve also started planning my spring break trip, which is really exciting! Going on adventures makes my heart full.
Success
My personal success is defined by my growth. My intention isn’t specifically to make a six-figure income this year, I just want to make more than I did last year. It’s also grind time for applying to medical school, so I am speaking success in my classes, on the MCAT, and with the application cycle into existence. With my blog, I really look up to Marianna Hewitt of Life With Me. Marianna has built her own brand, and still gives back to her followers and fellow bloggers. I am planning on amping up my content, being more consistent, and sharing my success (in humble ways) like Marianna does. The #GirlBoss grind isn’t stopping anytime soon… it’s just getting started!
Passion
Passion is probably the most important word on my vision board to me. Without passion, there’s no success, adventure, or joy. I am passionate about studying medicine to help people; more specifically, it’s my dream to become a dermatologist, which is no surprise since skincare is another passion of mine. I am also passionate about travel; it makes me a better individual, and it’s a great break from reality. I love learning about other cultures and places. And of course, I have a passion for fashion. It’s actually been a bucket list item of mine to attend Fashion Week, even before I started blogging. This year, I am keeping my passions alive, to ultimately design the life I love.

I am so excited to dive into 2018 with good intentions. It won’t be easy, but it’ll be worth it! I set my virtual vision board as the wallpaper on my laptop so I have a daily reminder of my intentions. I’m also thinking about having a poster version printed so I can put it in my room.
