Back in February, MAC released their Hyper Real Glow Palettes at select MAC locations and online. I was graciously sent both kits to swatch/review so I’ve decided to share my first impressions with you. Although the product was sent from MAC Cosmetics, all opinions are 100% my own.
Finally, something worthy of the hype. Fall fast and hard for the highlighting perfection of Hyper Real Glow. Each palette packs three shades of irresistibly dreamy highlighting powder to create flawlessly smooth, supercharged radiance. Give into gleam beyond your dreams. Get lost in the hyper real. – MAC Cosmetics Press Release

Hyper Real Glow Palette in Get It Glowin’
Shades: Get It Glowin’, Gold Coasting, Rosy Cheer
$39.50 US/$47.50 CAD
This palette is what I simply refer to as the ‘gold palette’; these shades are perfect for summertime when you want to be a glowing goddess. In my opinion, the shades stand out a little bit more than the Flash + Awe palette.
Hyper Real Glow Palette in Flash + Awe
Shades: Flash + Awe, Rosy Glow, Light of the Party
$39.50 US/$47.50 CAD
This palette is just a tad more subtle but still gives off a nice, warm glow. I think it’s more suitable for fair skin but looks lovely for all complexions. I would use this palette for a more everyday glow, and I would use the Get It Glowin’ palette for a more showstopping look.
Overall, I really like highlighter palettes for traveling so this is something I would definitely purchase. The thing I love most about the Hyper Real Glow palettes is that the glitters/shimmers are fine and will not separate on your face, which is a common problem in highlighters.
The Hyper Real Glow launch also highlights (pun intended) the Next to Nothing Face Colour and two brushes: the 168S Large Angled Contour Brush and 141 Synthetic Face Fan Brush. The fan brush can be used to apply the highlighters with the ability to build up the product on the face for a soft glow or glam look.
I actually use the Next to Nothing Face Colour on days that I don’t feel like I need full coverage on my face, so I would recommend that (retail is $31 US/$38 CAD) for anyone looking for something similar to a tinted moisturizer. Has anyone tried either of the Hyper Real Glow Palettes? Leave your thoughts below!
