It’s no secret that the Lorna Luxe x In The Style line is my favorite influencer collection. Each piece is flattering to many different shapes, and Lorna is incredible when it comes to taking feedback from those of us who love the collection. My latest obsession was the Aria dress, but I have a new Autumn/Winter favorite; the Lorna Luxe x In The Style ‘Gabrielle’ Houndstooth Oversized Coat and Micro Mini Skirt.
I have been loving Houndstooth print for a while now, but haven’t been able to find any pieces that I deemed complimentary to my figure. As soon as Lorna posted Instagram photos of the co-ord, it was love at first sight. I know, I know, you’re probably wondering why I would need the coat if I’m always complaining about the Florida heat… thankfully, we’ve already experienced a couple of cold fronts. Plus, I’m dreaming of the day I can wear this outfit in London.
I love a good co-ord set because you can style each piece in different ways. I’m already dreaming up outfit combinations involving different tops, blazers, and using the coat as a statement piece for an all-black look. Although some fashion websites are reporting that houndstooth is on its way out, I think it’s a classic print that will look good for ages. I paired the set this time around with a black turtleneck bodysuit (my all-time favorite from J.Crew), wide-calf knee high heeled boots from Vince Camuto, a faux leather beret I purchased from Forever21 a couple of years ago for my trip to Paris last March, and my pride and joy: a vintage Chanel flap from ~1997.
Thankfully, the ‘Gabrielle’ skirt runs true-to-size and isn’t too short when I sit down (although it is a true mini skirt). The coat is oversized with pleated balloon sleeves; the detail on the sleeve is beautiful, but if you are on the smaller side I’d probably size down. The coat retails for $94 USD and the skirt retails for $35. They’re both currently sold out on the In The Style website (and not even listed at the time of this post), but Lorna said on Instagram that she hopes they’ll restock before the month ends.
As always, I’m looking forward to what Lorna will be creating next with In The Style. Let me know in the comments if you have a favorite Lorna x ITS piece!
