Kourt K is the latest lip kit shade from Kylie Cosmetics. It is the second dark lipstick in the collection, this time with a plum vibe. It looked like the perfect purple on Kylie, so I wanted to see if it would have the same payoff on me. Check out my review below, complete with arm swatches, comparisons with other dark liquid lipsticks, and a makeup look I did to go along with it!
Left to right: Dose of Colors Black Rose, NYX Copenhagen, MAC Currant, Lipland x Amrezy Montenegro, MAC Nightmoth, Kylie Cosmetics Kourt K pencil and lipstick
Colorwise, Kourt K is a true purple compared to the other lipsticks I swatched. However, on me, it shows up looking very similar to Lipland’s Montenegro with one coat. To get the deep purple look that Kylie has, you definitely need at least two coats.
As you can see, the application is also a bit patchy and uneven. The lipstick isn’t unbearably drying. And just a heads up – as soon as you take a sip of anything, or talk for a moderate amount of time, your lips will look horrible. You have to constantly re-apply this lipstick if you’re wearing it out for longer than an hour. As for the lip pencil, I actually prefer MAC’s Nightmoth to this one. It’s an okay lip pencil and nice to have if you don’t already have one with the same color.
Overall, this lip kit is a complete skip until the formula is changed. It’s too patchy and uneven for the color to look nice in real life. Dolce K remains my favorite of the Kylie lip kits I’ve tried so far. I managed to order one of the glosses during yesterday’s restock, so I’m hoping to review that sometime next week for you all. I’m also going to include one of the Kylie Cosmetics products (brand new, obviously) in my Instagram giveaway sometime in the near future, since I finally have a thousand followers! As always – thank you for reading!
