For as long as I can remember, I’ve had this rule – I allow myself to have my hair or my face look a mess, but never both at the same time. I’m a firm believer in dressing well to feel well (about myself). If both my hair and face are messy, which is relative to each person, I don’t do my best and I don’t feel good about myself. I even tried a clip in hair extension. The other day I had late lunch plans and didn’t have time to do my hair before class, so I had to make sure my makeup was up to par. I also didn’t feel like dressing up, so I took care to put together an outfit that was very casual and comfortable but not sloppy.
Let me introduce you all to my lifesaver…this light brown suedette (aka faux suede) cap from River Island. I usually only wear caps when I’m working out outdoors, but I realized the rising trend of caps made from different materials is the answer to my bad hair day problems. So far I’ve invested in this suedette one from River Island and a vegan leather one from H&M. I’m on the search for a satin one next!
I paired a loose fitting black tank from J.Crew with black destroyed denim shorts from ASOS (currently sold out, sorry!). I pulled the outfit together with the KINGDOM Ghillie Pointed Shoes from Topshop; you’ll be able to find lace-up flats anywhere and everywhere, as they are very popular this autumn/winter season. I love how they can dress just about any outfit up.
What is your go-to when you’re having a bad hair day? Let me know in the comments! 🙂
