One of the most exciting things about DC (in my opinion) is the abundance of museums, especially the Smithsonian ones. I was determined to visit the Museum of American History and the Museum of Natural History, so I set out on a solo adventure. I wanted to wear something warm but comfortable, with layers I could peel off and pile on.

Although my bag isn’t pictured, I brought my black Longchamp ‘Large Le Pliage‘ tote with me. It’s my go-to for traveling – lightweight and roomy. I walked over eight miles total and was pretty comfortable all day!
