Helpful Apps

  • Delta: manage your flight, seat, etc.
  • Ferryhopper: for booking ferry tickets/looking at times
  • Get Your Guide: Colosseum ticket will be on here (mandatory)
  • Splitwise: splits bills, will convert to USD, etc
  • Timeshifter: add all of your flights and it’ll calculate when to drink/stop consuming caffeine, when to sleep, when to wake, etc. to avoid jetlag
  • Translate: language translation
  • Trenitalia: manage your Rome to Naples train ticket (must pre-load confirmation number & email)
  • TripIt: syncs reservations from your email into one itinerary with weather, addresses, etc.

Things You May Forget to Pack

  • Mini umbrella/poncho
  • Beach towel
  • Packable sunhat (you can buy one in Italy, just make sure you can bring it back without crushing it!)
  • Water shoes for the rocky beaches
  • Bug spray
  • Body sunscreen
  • Wrinkle release spray (there are no irons and steamers from the US won’t work!)
  • Beach bag, plastic bags for wet clothes

  • The Amalfi Coast is located in the Campania region (Southern Italy); Sorrento is actually on the Sorrentine Peninsula and is not one of the Amalfi towns. Capri is an Island in the Bay of Naples
