Spring 2017 was all about the unicorn, and I feel like summer 2017 is going to be all about the mermaid. Technically, mermaids never go out of style, but Melrose and I decided to bring some mermaid inspiration to life.
This was more of a creative shoot than my typical OOTD shoots, but I still got you guys on the outfit details 😉 I paired an ASOS lace-up one piece with a metallic coverup (the Bahamas Cover Up Dress) from Fashion Nova, and Melrose’s outfit is from Forever21. My anklet set was also from Forever21.
We decided to go for grungy mermaids instead of the whimsical mermaids everyone is generally used to. Metallics and pastels really ruled this look and was incorporated into our makeup (done by Peter Pratts, photos by Natasha Lopez) as well.
Who said mermaids can’t be real? Just channel your inner mermaid with some metallics and fun makeup looks this summer like Mel and I did!
